Venues like this are needed in every city, and the potential loss is of great concern! Cleveland has had similar venues, and the local music scene has thrived because of it. Additionally, bands that got their start at the Smell, including No Age, Mika Miko, and Abe Vigoda have gone on to create incredible music and inspire others in their wake. The Smell is needed!

To be sincere I have not yet been able to see my favorite bands perform at the smell. I do wish to experience it soon and I know it will be unforgettable.

Why must greed rule LA and try to take all our culture zones away? To all the developers and trustifarians, ya basta!

The smell is a place where teens go to enjoy themselves and life. How could a parking lot mean more than happiness?

The smell is a very important venue. Some big names started out here, and it's where a lot of local bands get to show their stuff. Very important to the community!

Please do not demolish The Smell! It has been a safe haven for kids of all ages to be able to hear live music and participate in the L.A. arts scene. It is a most important part of downtown L.A. and should be preserved!!!

The Smell is a cultural landmark in Los Angeles, a safe zone where young people have created art and music together, where social consciousness is awakened and turned into social activism. It would be a huge loss to see this nearly twenty year old cultural institution all for the sake of another parking lot.

The smell is always a place to look forward into going, is a place for some mostly half of the LA teens to call a second home.
