Not only The Smell, but the Five Star Bar on the same block have been musical, cultural, and social cultivators and influences, which are key to a successful Downtown Los Angeles. What are we supporting if not a community of creativity? Corporate and temporal states of style? As a Los Angeles local my entire life, what makes Los Angeles a hub of attraction is exactly what this notice of demolition seeks to destroy.

I've never been to this venue personally, but all I've heard is great things about this venue! Great bands like surf curse, wild heart, the red pears and many other burger bands have played. Save the smell!!!

Without the smell, the local scene for all teens will be greatly damaged. This is where so many kids play their first shows, this can't be taken away.

Save the Smell! Independent spirits and great music and performance flourish here! Funky place with a great vibe. Intimate venue where audience and performer feel connected in spirit and purpose, and that's so inspiring!

There is honestly no music venue like this place. Demolishing it would be horrific. It has been a safe place for so many people to gather and make friends and listen to music and perform.

The Smell provided a space for music in Los Angeles that no other venue could match! I was fortunate enough to spend so much time there over the years. My teenage years were made complete thanks to The Smell!! I was able to see all of my favorite local bands without having to be 21! This place holds a very special place in my heart! NASA SPACE UNIVERSE, LE FACE, FRANCIS HAROLD, MIKA MIKO FOREVER!!!
