The Skellar is a PSU tradition that was there for my college experience and also my son's college experience. My friends and I still take annual trips to PSU. While thee are many reasons for this trip, one of them is to go to the Skellar and relive our past. It would be such a shame to all past and future PSU alumi if there was no Skellar.

A PSU tradition. Met my spouse there in 1968. Wonderful memories.

Whether this petition helps or not, it is important to maintain our communities history and to help out our small business owners, especially one that is not struggling. It's a shame to take away someone's livelihood for financial gain in some way.

I'm a PSU alum that frequented that bar as a student and make it a point to visit it when I come back for games. Closing this bar is like taking away a piece of Penn State history. Don't turn this landmark tradition into another chain bar or restaurant. Let's keep the nostalgia of downtown State College alive and preserve traditions for all the alum that so faithfully come back to relive the joys of our college years!!!

This place is as important to PSU as beaver stadium. Bury this greedy mustard company into the ground.

The Skeller is the best place to go the service is great and the food is good. Why close something that has around for so long. Is it a land mark that should be saved.

Do not let this company get rid of such a historic bar; it's one of the few bars in town that has such a significant meaning. Please keep the Skeller!!

Too much history for this amazing bar to go away. My Dad worked at the Skeller while going to Penn State and has been a favorite place to go for as long as I can remember. Must keep the Rathskeller alive!

Reading this article has made me spitting mad that the Herlocher's could rent these 2 wonderful places to another restaurant!! I can't believe they think kicking Duke and Monica out and to have someone else run another establishment as perfect as the Skeller and arguably THE BEST dining in State College > Spats, is doing the right thing. Originally I thought the Herlocher's were typically selling out to yet another unneeded High Rise student monstrosity, Being money hungry is one thing, being stupid is another.

The conversation needs to be more than “They wouldn’t pay our price. They’re out.”

This is a State College favorite! Please don't close it down. Some of my favorite memories while at Penn State were at the Skeller.

I thought the Herlocher's "love downtown State College" and were "happy to be purchasing this historic area". Removing such iconic places is an odd way to show that love....
