Lived in state college from 1964-2001. My dad started the student book store. Though I’m sitting here heartbroken but also laughing my ass off. State college is all about $$$$$$$$ . What did everyone think, if some of those people can slit their mothers throat do a $ they would. It’s state college nature.

The final proof that the Penn State of old is days gone by. Bought up, developed, and turned into high rises by people who have never been to the town. A disgusting thing for the Herlocher's to do and even more disgusting that our community has been complacent all these years to watch our traditions bought up and bulldozed. This town is dead.

I don't care if they open a Wolfgang Puck's with free food and drinks. I would never step foot in the place. Those are sacred grounds. My favorite bar since first entering through those doors in 1983.

Those involved should be ashamed for trying to do away with a State College institution.

C'mon, negotiate a fair rent and keep a Penn State institution alive. We need to hold onto our traditions, not throw them by the wayside for a few dollars.

Sorry to hear you’re going through this uncle Duke! Your restaurants are awesome and I hate to see them go; it would be a very sad day. Your niece Tammy

Have a heart! The Skeller is one of the few bona fide State College traditions that we have left. Please don't let it die!
