I think there has to be something said for tradition, and the idea that a new owner should swoop in and insinuate themselves on a place as historic as the Rathskeller is disappointing, and a perfect example of the crass commercialism of modern capitalism.

It would be a tragedy to close the iconic Rathskellar! And we won't forget to boycott the mustard-heads who might do it.

Herlochers should be ASHAMED of the despicable business practices employed in in this deal. They are no friend to the community that they operate in OR to the Penn State Family! #SaveTheSkeller

As a Penn State alum, the Skellar was a staple of college life! I still get up to Penn State for work and I stop in the Skellar every chance I get to enjoy the rich atmosphere. Please don’t go Skellar!!
