You can't erase history. You can't judge history based on today's standards. You can't say those who fought for the South were anything less than patriots for their states.

This statue is a reminder of what we overcame and what we as the southern people hold dear for those who fought and died for a cause which helped bring about the change that would unite us as Americans. Be it good history or bad history to some, it is REAL HISTORY, not revised and belongs to us all not one man nor a group of men but all men. Leave this sentinel be.
