If they can find the deer to cull them then they can find them to tranquillise and release on other side of fence. So very sad that culling has even been considered as an option. If you live next door to wildlife it's your duty to share that environment, not murder another species that's in your way!

Why is culling animals always the answer? there's other ways.

The deer were here first. This is something they should have considered a practical solution before building the fences #bambi

This is shocking! Just help them to escape the prison that was erected around them.

This sounds like an overkill reaction, unless the animals are contaminated there is no valid reason to cull them!

I'm sure there'd be sufficient volunteers to flush the deer out of hiding and into a safer habitat. A little effort is all it takes not to be branded butchers. Sellafield, you've got a bad rep as it is, don't make it worse..

This is awefull culling animals is not a viable or humane solution to such a matter its bad enough the sellafield site is anywhere near natural habitats for any animal but this is a cheap cruel underhanded forcefull tactic that must not go ahead.

Disgusting. I worked on that site next to the deer they are a family. They wanted to kill them hen I was on site and that was 2012. I tried getting in touch with people to stop it and was dragged in the office by my boss and told to stop and hand any information back. So why say they have just gone to live there now it is a lie. They are a family of deer I watched from the office window the baby ones and they are a family it is so cruel I had a meeting and was told to stop. The deer need a voice why should Sellafield rule our countryside.
