When there is an easy solution which does not involve killing these deer, why on earth would the Deer Initiative Partnership advise culling. What is this current craze for culling our wildlife. Please release them.

Absolutely outrageous to kill a herd of deer for this reason. Bad enough that they have to live near a nuclear power station but to be killed because they chose to build an additional fence without making sure animals would not get trapped beggars belief. Stop this nonsense and let the poor animals free.

Open the fence panels and let them out. If they really think the deer will be that difficult to herd out they should get in contact with an organisation such as Hillside Animal Sanctuary who will be able to give proper advice. Culling of these beautiful animals must never be allowed to happen. It's just another excuse to kill wildlife.

It is highly unethical to cull the deer due to them being trapped through no fault of their own. The best solution all round is to humanely arrange for them to be released to the local area. The DIP is not welfare orientated, they will not have the deer's best interests at heart.

Open up one end of the enclosure and herd them out. You'd do it with sheep, why not deer? Or are deer expendable?!
