A great opportunity to do the right thing which the BLM does have a good reputation of doing. Make the fence permanent to provide needed safety.

Install a permanent fence around the tree. This will avoid people getting injured but will preserve amazing habitat.

The sight of this tree lets me KNOW that I've arrived at the San Pedro House. It would be a crime to not TRY to save it.

This giant tree is far more than just a scenic attraction. It's part of the history of the San Pedro River and an important resource for both people and wildlife. Its shade keeps the House cooler on summer afternoons, its branches provide nesting sites and perches for dozens of species of birds, and the insects that feed on its leaves provide fuel for migrating songbirds, hummingbirds, federally-listed Western Yellow-billed Cuckoos, and more. It could continue providing these values for many more years if we don't interfere. Let this tree live what's left of its life and die with dignity!

Trimming the tree will make it safe and still provide habitat for wildlife. It's the environmentally correct thing to do. I would donate to have it trimmed.
