Leave some space for safe training!!!! Why turn it into another car park????? It will be wiser if it is reconstructed to do a proper track!!!! It in a shameful, abandoned state.

How on earth can the university population with an average age well below 30 insist on travelling by the private car when most live within a few kilometres from the university? The future leaders should lead by example to alleviate the traffic congestion problem.

A terrible decision for our obese population. Wrong wrong message to our youngsters

The problem is not lack of parking space, it is too much cars. The young population at UoM surely can consider switching to alternative modes of sustainable transport such as bicycles rather than occupy a space reserved for fitness with their parked cars.

This should be fixed and brought to better standards not worsen the state of it by becoming a car park. Then we complain about obesity when sport is always last in the governments priority list!

Instead of encouraging people to use their cars, it should be discouraged. University is very central and is easy to reach by public transport or even walk. Instead of a car park it should get a facelift to attract more people to exercise.

The idea to turn a running track into a carpark instead of finding alternative methods of transport is beyond the border line of ignorance and laziness.

This fixation on car use needs to stop.
Cars are destroying our basic necessities, replacing health outlets to accomodate our dependency on cars.
Alternative transportation is the answer and we should work towards that and not facilitate and fuelling further the problem of cars by providing more space.

I strongly suspect that the persons involved in making this decision may have been exposed to an excess of leaded car exhaust in their formative years.

I believe that it's not fair that we compromise the safety of all athletes and runners who use this track for parking purposes.

I've run on that track on a regular basis since I was 12 years old. I'm now 38 years old, and I've represented Malta in triathlon races abroad for the past 20 years. This track needs an upgrade, not a downgrade!
It's in constant use!
