The Nabarima holds approximately 60 million gallons of oil of the coast of gulf of paria Trinidad. This vessel has been tilting and if oil spills it can cause a historical ecological disaster worse than the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010. Imagine the horrors the Atlantic Empress caused Trinidad and Tobago in 1979, minor to this.
Fishermen who depend on this for their livelihood will lose an income, our reefs damaged leaving us to import seafood, our endangered species like our leather back turtles and other marine life can be wiped off.
Lets petition with/for our local fishermen, coast guards and permission from the Venezuelan& Trinbago Government,to let experienced persons (both international & local) with private/public boats, tugs and ferries to come together and safely remove the Nabarima from our coast before any major damage is done. Remove it to either venezuelan or Trinbago port to be off the water to prevent further damages.

I wake up every single morning checking the news for word on the Nabarima because the thought of our waters being destroyed keeps me from sleeping. The fishermen I speak to are terrified about losing their livelihood and I am doing everything I can to get the right people to acknowledge this threat.

Seeing this kind of movement gives me hope that we can actually protect these waters before the Nabarima ruins everything we love. It is deeply moving to see so many people acknowledge that our fishermen and our turtles are worth fighting for.

This is a literal ticking time bomb sitting right in our backyard. If that thing tips over our entire fishing industry is finished. Do something fast.
The turtles and the reefs... we cant just sit by and watch this happen. Fix the boat already!!!
How is this not headline news everywhere?? Our waters are literally at risk and nobody in charge seems to care.

If the Trump Administration does not drop US Sanctions on Venezuela to allow the offloading of that tanker, it is largely responsible for any oil spill. Trinidad and Tobago is a small country without many resources. The world needs to come to their aid to avoid catastrophe.
