Every time I drive by the Gas & Coke Building I think about what a missed opportunity it is. Razing the historical building would be a shame.

This would be tragic to not save this building. Make it a museum or landmark. Contaminated or not preserve it as a piece to show our future genorations a bit of our past. Portland is so rich in industrial, and art. Let it live on.

It will take a lot of work - but it's the effort that is put into this building to save it, that will define what sort of people we are.

Please find a way to save this historic thing of beauty! Surely something built with that much talent can be put to use, it's sat unused for FAR too long, and nothing built today can compare....

I never knew what business this building occupied until now. So much history it would be a shame to see it torn down!

One of my favorite buildings in Portland, if I had the money I would buy this thing and restore it. I hope we can save this thing and one day turn it into a more positive space for the community.

It could be a future treasure for us all to enjoy instead of a forgotten memory once destroyed!
