I have drove by this building for 30+ years and never knew what it was..always thought it was so cool..would make a neat hotel or restaurant.

I have always admired this building. To this day every time we drive by it I say aloud I would love to make that building my home and let my family and friends move in and throw great parties for every holiday and feed people who have no where else to go. I still want that to be my future home!!!!!!

The building should serve not only as an aesthetically significant historic building, but also as a reminder. This building has an important story which should include its preservation. Contamination of the site should not condemn the building. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

My dad fight a fire there. In the early 80's when he was a St johns fire fighter for Portland fire.He was based by the 7-11 in linton.He has said that therewas a call there for a man blowin to roof from exploson next door.

I love that building. I would have bought it if I could. I thought it would be a great place to welcome homeless and learn a little more from them. Another shelter would not do. This would have individual or family areas. Family's would have individual bedrooms in their own apartments and singles would live in studios. A free community eating area and kitchenettes in apartments. There is so much room. The possibilities are endless.

When I win a multi Million dollar lottery this is one building I would love to buy, and refurbish. I used to ride with my gramma into portland where she worked and we would ride around looking at different houses and buildings that "one day" we would own. But this one always was the "one" for sure!

I have loved this building my entire adult life in Portland, have often fantasized about what I would turn it into. I would absolutely LOVE to see this become a usable space! It is too glorious a building to destroy.

this another case where we are not invited to waterfront area because of industry. Its a shame that it was allowed to be and remain contaminated. i wonder why the last owner/tennant were allowed to leave that mess for some one else to clean up. our water surely is reason enough. it seems that coke and gas were lucritive and should be held respondsible.
