I am an alumni (class of '67), with my degree in Animal Science, so I spent a good portion of my time at Cal Poly in and around those pasturelands. They are an intregal part of the essence of Cal Poly and what makes it a special school, noted for it "Hands On" experience. The lands provide a home for wildlife, both animals and birds, and should not be destroyed to put in more buildings, concrete and congestion. This move will change the whole ambience of the school, which now makes the University almost a natural preserve. There is not enough open land left in that area of urbanization. We should protect and preserve as much open land as possible because once it is gone, it's gone, and all of the natural benefits that go along with it.

Cal Poly Pomona is a special place and the land and space makes it special. Please keep the pasture space for the horses and for the future students like my daughter who has dreamed of going to school there for the Arabian Horse Unit and for its unique campus. Thank you! Diana, Cal Poly Pomona graduate 1990
