Leave it to the politicians to try and fix something that isn't broke., and with tax payers money, of course. That money would be better spent anywhere else.Your not wanted or needed in this project, so why are you there?

Tax payers are already paying too much and it would be a sad, sad day to see the Ocean Mist closed. If Kevin Finnegan will really put up the money to repair the current seawall then we all win.

I have built a number of steel sheet pile bulkheads in Newport, where the toptraphy warranrts their use. In this case, the current locainot of the seawall, re-bulidt makes the most functional sense for such a facility.

This is a classic venue, with quite the lovely location, overlooking the ocean. The food is also great, and they host some of the best local bands. Please don't shut it down.

This an absolute disgrace and I have no idea why the Matunick officials will do whatever they can to NOT help these businesses. Its been going on for years and after seeing the blatant lack of assistance post Hurricane Sandy. DOT, CRMC and DEM are all going around in circles with what will be the laws and guidelines for building new structures along the floor plain but have not addressed any existing structure that was not destroyed by Sandy, like the Ocean Mist and Tara's. The sea wall has been deteriorating for 20 years do to lack of maintenance which is a statewide issue but for some of us who remember when there was an actual beach outside of the Ocean Mist, how about the state and other building departments look into strategic ways to protect the shoreline so we can salvage the oceanfront, beaches and taxable income generated by businesses like this. Does the town and state really feel that by destroying businesses and private residences to build a new sea wall will do anything positive for the people in this area? I say NO and furthermore does nothing to elliviate the long neglected problem of beach erosion only our beautiful coastline. You have my support and I will forward this petition to everyone I know to support this effort

The Ocean Mist is a great little place...would not want to see this seawall destroy the beach or the surrounding area, especially such a great music venue. PLEASE do not allow this! I drive up from NY to go to this place during the summer. Thank you for listening.
