Building this wall as proposed would be an utter tragedy for Matunuck, the surrounding communities, and the state. The Ocean Mist is not only a piece of history, it is a staple in Southern RI. It provides a boost in tourism, and is a great source of employment in the area. Don't make this state worse off than it already is. Let Kevin Finnegan pay out of pocket for a perfectly acceptable, if not better and more economical option to save our shoreline.
Re-building the existing seawall seems to make more sense to me.

This sounds like a scam from the town. The Oceanmist bar generates tax money and bring tourists to the area. There has to be a more sensible way. If this happens, I wouldn't doubt that you would see the town making money off this somehow in the future.
