I agree and fully support Kevin Finnegan's position on the rebuilding of the historic seawall. Perhaps if the State of RI had done it's due diligence and maintained the historic wall in the first place, we would not have this problem today. Logical thought and reasoning does not appear to be in State's vocabulary!

RI needs to start making decision that help business. The ocean mist is a RI landmark, the state needs to help all those business stabilize the ocean side of their buildings, this conversation has gone on for a long time, let the business owners plan and fund the rebuild, CRMC should just do the job of oversight to make sure the project works. Private owners should be allowed to use their properties as they wish, within reason, if the state wants to control it then they should buy it!!

Saving The Mist and Matunuck has been going on for over 50 years, back to the days when The Mist was known as "Carpenters". It always has been a place where at the beginning of the summer season, friends reunited and at the end, they toasted their old friendships and new ones made and looked forward to "next year" when they would gather again. There are many families living in Matunuck that own property that goes back those 50+ years that have remained in their families for many reasons, including a beach that once was considerably larger. The town "fathers" have let protecting the area slide since the mid 1960's always with a "have to look into it" attitude. What the town "still" does not realize is that others in the row of houses on the beach that are in danger at some point will say "enough" be it before or after their home is damaged or destroyed, and will walk away leaving the town with 'nothing" to tax. So they'll have a very large parking lot for people to pay to go to a beach that does 'not' exist. Shame on the illustrious "town fathers". Keven has put his heart and soul into Matunuck and is now willing to put up and pay for the salvation of the area for future generations to be able to enjoy. Give'm hell Kevin.... South Kingstown "town Fathers" stand up and be a father and "protect your children". GIVE KEVIN PERMISSION NEEDED TO REBUILD THE WALL AND SAVE M A T U N U C K!!!!!!!!",

Some great memories here, save the O mist! There is a wall 10 miles up RT 1 in Narragansett, we don't need one here!
