SAVE THE NUT! Antonio’s Nuthouse is more than just an ordinary bar/ restaurant. It’s a place of significant value to Palo Alto and it’s community. In a time of redevelopment Palo Alto’s identity is now defined by the giant tech companies that also call Palo Alto home. The Nut House is the last piece of the old Palo Alto that still remains the same. It’s rich in history dating back before the hustle and bustle of what is now Silicon Valley. Fathers and mothers have had their first drinks here and have been around long enough to also share that same moment with their own children here. It’s communal importance is unlike no other, where old timers and younger crowds converge. Palo Alto and it’s community NEED to keep the last bit of soul left where anyone and everyone can come together. Keep the old memories alive and let’s create new ones by keeping this Palo Alto institution alive. SAVE ANTONIO’S NUT HOUSE!

Antonio's Nut House is an iconic staple of Palo Alto on Cal Ave. The amazing bartenders (Looking at you: Stephanie, Frank, Michelle, Lee, Mariana and Kelly) who've served me over the years are without a doubt some of the best!
Tony's amazingly cheerful spirit lives on in every aspect of this building. It would be a shame to lose the history and character this place has served for so many decades. I became a regular here, nothing holds a candle to the unique charm and vibe this dive bar has brought me!
It even comes with a built-in taqueria that serves up delicious food while you're enjoying your alcoholic beverage of choice, listening to music playing on the jukebox, looking at the ceiling artwork, playing pool or air hockey, watching sporting events on the various TVs, having conversations, attending celebrations, going out on dates or spending quality happy hour time with friends, family or co-workers. Last but definitely not least, the peanuts you get from a gorilla behind caged bars!!!
Whatever circumstances brought you into the Nut House, we both know you had a really great time! This place will always hold a special place in my heart because it actually means something special to be present and spend time there ❤️

The NutHouse is a Palo Alto community stronghold, a safe haven for working class people amidst billionaire (wealth-hoarding) neighbors, and a draws a much needed diverse crowd to the city.

PLEASE keep this place!
It’s the ONLY dive bar in Palo Alto that has been around for many decades.
The clientele is so diverse. You won’t find this at any other place in Palo Alto.
People come from all over the country to visit this historic place.
And as such, it should be declared.
