What a travesty if it doesn't remain

This is a significant landmark and a strong memory from my years living in Brixton. It has powerful historic connotations representative of Brixton as a centre of political demonstration and national conscience from the dark era of the cold war.

local heritage must be preserved

This mural is world famous and should be restored, not removed. Brixton has a unique heritage and this is part of it. World-wide, this mural is a beacon for the movement for nuclear dis-armament, which UK citizens should lead, not erase.

If the mural is to be saved then it should be suitably restored.The state that it's presently in is very poor.

Stop the gentrification rape of Brixton!

How can a vast and unique artwork with significant historic value be allowed to decay away to nothing?

As with everything that reflects Brixton's REAL history, Lambeth Council appear determined to let the mural rot.

It would be a desecration of Cultural history to destroy this mural. It symbolizes the unique creative spirit of Brixton from so much Great Art and Music was born!!!

I sincerely hope this amazing mural can be restored saved and listed

I have walked past this many times without really understanding how powerful this piece is. After reading the symbology how can anyone dream of demolishing it. Such a poignant message.

I used to see this mural almost daily when I lived in the Brixton area in the late 80's and loved it then as much as I do now... a far cry from the mountains and lakes I live near now in Cumbria but none the less just as magical.. please save it!!

This is a wonderful mural - a real piece of imaginative & representational art, depicting our city. It really MUST be saved, to enhance the lives of all who see it.

As a former resident of Brixton, I have always regarded Nuclear Dawn as a seminal artwork. It brightened up a dreary space, had a message and, possibly above all, is an example of community action improving local surroundings. Everyone gained.

This mean so much to those that live in brixton. It would be a travesty if it disappeared.
