The fact that they couldn't even listen last night was awful. These officers DO NOT deserve to be dissolved. We need to keep them. They do a wonderful job and things DEFINITELY need to be reconsidered.

Please reconsider. Many residents, including me, were blindsided by this decision and vote. The township supervisiors have let their residents down. Time for them to go.

Do not take away our officers! They protect and serve everyday and I am so thankful that they do. Our voices need to be heard.

There is no good reason to disolve an excellent police force such as the NBRPD. They provide excellent coverage and keep our community safe. The costs of forming an independent and likely inefficient police force of our own just does not make sense. Lets fix the personal grievances and do what's best for the taxpayers.

If Ontellaunee and Leesport think this is too expensive, starting up their own departments will be more so. And depending on PSP will not work either.

The NBRP have been an asset to our community. They have protected and educated us. This is an unconscionable decision. Please reconsider!

Keep the department! Creating a new department will only hurt the taxpayers.

Northern Berks should not be dissolved! They take care of our community and have been a pleasure to talk too and respond when called. Our community needs a police force that knows us and issues that we deal with. most of us knew of the grumblings of the board, but this VOTE BS and un called for.

As a resident of Madiencreek and a mom of 6, I find it hard to believe that any parent/resident would want to dislove our Police department. Clearly this was a decision made by Politicians and not by or for the community as a whole. We need our Northern Berks Police, the officers are all kind, caring, members of our community and are always quick to respond to a problem or concern in our community. We wouldn't get to same personal service with another department or the State Police. This is a time in our country that we should be standing behind our Police not pushing them aside. Back the Blue!

Its sad that personal and political agendas may result in unfortunate impacts to residents who need and rely on the local police. Our voices need to be heard!

I’m not for disbanding our police. We need them and you guys know it. We be lost without them. They are our ppl to serve our communities!! We need more of them to catch speeders on our road all the time!! Ppl don’t stop at stop signs at Hill & Guldin Road. When ppl used our road they speed well over 25 mph!!. We love our town. Cmon ppl we need the police!! Thanks!!

I live in Maidencreek Township and it is disturbing that the commission voted before allowing time for public comment.

As a widow to a long-standing LEO in Delco I’m truly disappointed in the board’s decision to disband our police department! We get excellent service considering they serve 3 communities. No way will we receive this if we end up with state police. And if considering getting individual departments how is that cost effective? Or will the board decide to pass that price along to the residents through taxes? Obviously no one at that meeting cared what the communities wanted at all! Shame on you all as we the residents should have been notified and not seeing leaks about it via Facebook etc! I guess we the residents will have our say come re-election time!
