As a proud NRHS graduate and current West Point Cadet, I have learned that history and tradition is critical to a community and the bonds formed within it. I remember this proud statue as I would turn the corner on the last lap of the 2 mile run running for the Ranger team in track in Middle School & High School. As well as later as I saluted the flag at football games during the National Anthem as an enlisted soldier in the Army my junior and senior years of High School, and as an Alumni and West Point Cadet in Dress Gray. Much has already changed since I graduated, but this remained the one sole symbol that I believe represents my time at home in Ridgeville. It would be tragic to lose this proud symbol.

PLEASE do NOT get rid of this statue. My own children will not be able to go to the same b that my family has been going to for so many YEARS! you are already ruining the city by demolishing our historical buildings! PLEASE keep this special statue!

I am a huge fan of tradition. Children growing up need to feel a connection to those who came before them. The statue is a familiar sight to thousands of people, who cherish it as a symbol of their community.
