Not a fare deal! Might as well blame all the people who stay at the westin who want to be close to the historic music district! And might blame those same people who take advantage of all the events that austin has to offer!

I worked at The Nook for almost 3 years. That hotel is heartless and Austin NEEDS to take it on.

It is ridiculous for the Westin to build next to an existing music venue then due to their poor construction to insulate the hotel from sound that meets the legal limits they are suing the owners of Nook! This lawsuit should be thrown out as baseless & frivolous.

This is the definition of being a douche. The WESTIN knew what they were getting into when they bought the dirt. I live at 9th and Red River, trust me... I know.

I have had the pleasure of working with the owners JD and Stephen with several of their venues in Austin and know first hand that they truly care about the Austin community. My last project with them was actually assiting with them with receiving a plaque from the Pecan Street Association in honor of the late Leslie Cochrin. The Nook was one of 9 venues to receive a plaque in the PSA's Celebrate Sixth Street Plaque Project. JD and Stephen have owned and operated many venues and have become pillars of the entertainment community for over a decade bringing jobs to hundreds of locals and fun to thousands of locals and tourists. They have and want to contiunue cohabitating with a variety of successful businesses that make Austin the flourishing city it has become.

When you let big business, whom are getting the benefit of your unique city culture, start didictating your culture - the end will result in losing what made your city great to begin with...
