The Westin knew where they CHOSE to build. It's ridiculous for them to get mad about music in the "Live Music Capital of the World!"

Somewhere there's an email from a Westin exec saying, "no need for more soundproofing, we'll just have the venue shut down later."

It's a completely ridiculous lawsuit filed by a company that does not understand their location. Another corporate giant going after a small business.

Leave down town. Westin needs to sell the property and turn them into condos. Stop trying to change/ ruin our city.

Austin is the music capital of Texas, and the US. That is what makes it's so admirable. To take a part of its venues is like cutting a piece of Austin's heart. People who move to Austin move there to experience its unique beauty and appreciates its rhythmic heart beat of the city its grown to be.
As a corporation, they should have employed an individual that should have done their due diligence and educate the company about the area in the city, and its demographics before they decide to build. Because of this, and the lack of their education of Austin they are now wanting to take away from Austin's community. That is not fair. Only people who traveling for work, or visitors that stay at hotels and do not know Austin would complain. Westin is a major corporation that can easily relocate somewhere else, and can also provide shuttles for their guest to go to these venues. Music is a major reason why people go to Austin. Do not be like the rest of the corporations who only care for their benefit, and forget about the love and respect Austinites have for their community.
I never lived in any other city that had so much love for its community than Austin does, and I am blessed that I was part of it. Austin is known as keep it weird, Austin is Texas's beautiful unique gem. Please do not shatter the residents dreams, local jobs, and what Austin represents. Austin is not for the slick back greedy corporate type, it's for the innovators, it's for the entrepreneurs, it's for the artist, it's for athletes, it's for people who are driving and people who can thrive in a place that accepts their differences.
Thank you for your time.

Austin was Austin before the Westin came!
This is ridiculous. The Nook was there first.

We don't want The Westin in Austin.
