My father is American Indian. I graduated from Newton. This is a tribute not to degrade the Indians. It would be a shame to remove the Braves

I'm not offended
It's clearly honorable to be a BRAVE

Newton High School would not be the same without our brave- a warrior. Which is what we are !!!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous. As a graduate from 2017, nothing has ever been about race in that High-school ever. Nothing less of a loving, supportive, and humble environment.

I’ve played for the Braves since I was 6 whether it was wrestling football and baseball.. not once did I see it as a “Indian warrior”. I saw it as being courageous, at any game I took pride wearing the maroon and white. Shouting “Home of the Brave” at the end of the national Anthem during home game has been the best feeling in my life for years!
