The name of our Mascot has had a significant impact on all of us who have gone to school in the Newton School System. It stands for excellence and a true meaning to the people who have called it our home for generations. I am appalled at the fact that we would consider anything other than to let it remain the same.

My husband is a Newton Brave from the class of ‘79. Keep the Braves! They’re an important part of Sussex County history—sincerely a High Point Wildcat Class of ‘83
