I am shocked that this has happened, and deeply saddened by it. The music department has been a home to me, even if I was on the technical aspect of it. It still was my home. To have it taken away is to take away the joyful noise and beautiful performances that everyone works hard on ever single day. I am no longer at Newman, but I told myself I would also try and come back for their shows. It makes me sad that they're going to take away the one part of Newman I could call a home. Please, reconsider the decision and sign this petition. I don't want to loose a home of mine.

I try to never miss a Newman Music Department event. I am not a student or alumni, but an admirer of Deanne Zogleman and what she has accomplished in growing this Department into the high quality program it has become. The department represents Newman University proudly in the community, and I would venture to say that for many of us it is the face of NU.

The only happy part about my time at Newman was the music program. Studies show that music helps as an outlet for students, keep these students psychologically healthy and don't take away their outlet!

Newman prides itself on creating well rounded students but actions speak louder than words. Through the removal of the music department, it is proving that the only thing that Newman's administration and board of trustees cares about is its science programs and bottom line.
