What a lovely picture of mother and baby gorillas. It would be a shame if they lost their home just because some humans were greedy. It be a shame if the only way we could see these magnificent animals is in picture.

They do not infringe on humans, we infringe on their territory, their livelihoods and their families. We are the ones who need to BACK OFF and let these animals live their lives in peace. We are killing ourselves off just as quickly, so why not take a break!!

Mountain gorillas (Silverbacks) live in the Virunga mountains of East central Africa, They are the most endangered of the three subspecies, and are seriously threatened by the possibility of extinction. Around 790 are left in the world, and none survive in captivity. While mountain gorillas are large, physically imposing creatures, they are also gentle, affectionate, intelligent and peaceful vegetarians. and are devoted to their family groups. They spend a large portion of their day interacting playfully with their young, and can be fiercely protective if their families are in danger. They only behave aggressively toward humans if they believe they are being threatened. And Yes! Mountain gorillas are one of our closest relatives, sharing 98.6% of our genomes and 99.6% of our DNA. These animals really need to be protected and a UN commission should be set up to put into effect a charter to set up a safe reserve for these creature with no entry for humans
