Theater is a fundamental activity for hundreds of thousands of students across the country. It’s where we find family, happiness and so much else. Do not deprive your students of it or other fine arts. They are just as vital as sports, STEM and liberal arts courses.

As a once theatre kid who thrived in her high school drama department, a professional actor, and also a theatre educator I am pleased to sign this petition if it means maintaining a performing arts program at this high school! The arts provide valuable, effective learning. It should not be on the chopping block of any HS curriculum. The arts help build communities, let it be apart of yours.

My high school theatre program changed the course of my life. For kids that are not interested in sports the theatre, music, and art extracurricular are vital. Not to mention participation in these programs is proven to make you a better student. Please save the music and theatre program.
