The news has arrived that the publication will be preserved and continue its work in our city. This outcome belongs to the hundreds of people who refused to accept the loss of a vital community resource. Please remain attentive as we observe how these plans unfold in the coming months.

http://en.canoe.ca/montrealmirror/ Today, the Montreal Mirror announced that they are shutting down due to economic reasons. It is a Montreal institution that we have all come to know and love, and in a lot of cases, take for granted. The words that come to mind are "you don't know what you've got till it's gone". We may not be able to change their minds, but if we all show our support, maybe we can get them to continue this publication in some small way. Perhaps one great final edition? Just keeping the website up? What would you be willing to do to Save the Montreal Mirror? You can start by signing our online petition. By doing so you will show your support for the site/magazine and if we get enough signatures hopefully we can get Quebecor Media to change their minds.

This paper is a huge part of what makes our city cool. Losing it is a massive blow to the local arts scene.
