Save the Middle Haddam School

509 Signatures Goal: 500

We, the undersigned, urge the East Hampton Town Council to acquire the historic Middle Haddam Schoolhouse at 12 Schoolhouse Lane and rehabilitate it to serve the community, as it did so well for 50 years!

(The Middle Haddam Schoolhouse, which served as a public elementary school for 50 years, is threatened with demolition. The brick neo-classical building (c.1930) has excellent potential for rehabilitation and adaptive re-use - and is eligible for significant funding, since it is listed on the State Register of Historic Places. Please help us to preserve this important part of East Hampton’s history by signing our petition.

Visit the “Friends of the Middle Haddam School” Facebook Page to learn more about the building, its history, the special memories it holds for former students and teachers, and our campaign to "Save the Middle Haddam School" for future generations: https://www.facebook.com/save12SchoolhouseLane/.)

I am a Middltown Senior Citizen who loves to visit the new senior center to attend its many programs. As I sign this petition I think that the Middle Haddam School would bea great fit as an East Hampton Senior Center
