As a parent of two children who have both benefited greatly from the Media program, I feel strongly that removing this course would be a significant loss for our students and our school community.
We continue to hear about preparing children for the future, yet we are considering removing one of the few programs that directly connects them to the modern world they are growing up in. Technology, digital communication, and artificial intelligence are evolving rapidly. Our children need guidance, education, and critical thinking skills to understand how to use these tools safely and responsibly.
The School Board needs to reconsider this decision and protect not only the Media program, but the opportunities it provides for our children to grow, adapt, and succeed in an evolving digital world.

Media courses are very important for kids because they help children understand and use the media around them in a smart, safe, and creative way.

Media is important and should also be extended to high school. I can't believe that I (class of 1997) had media in elementary and high-school and now you are depriving elementary and high-school students of one of the most important class in today's world....

media class in this day and age is not a ‘’nice to have’’ it is a must. We must tool our young ones as much as possible to allow them to move forward. At a time where both parents are now forced to work to provide, we need all the help we can get to educate shcool related skills as we must focus on perental type stuff.

It’s not just a “media class” - it’s so much more than that. It covers media safety, robotics, and is an integral part of the STEM program. It’s one of the school’s main strengths (in addition to the French immersion program). It’s essential that children learn how to use the internet properly and it would be a real shame if this course were abolished. Not to mention that Mrs. Nadia is fantastic! My son loves her class.
Save media class! Arts expression matters
