We, the undersigned parents, students, alumni, and community members, are asking the EMSB and school administration to preserve the Media course at Easthill.

We are deeply concerned by discussions that the Media course may no longer continue as a dedicated class taught by a Media specialist, and instead be briefly incorporated into regular classroom time.

Media education cannot be replaced with a few occasional minutes during another class. Students deserve proper instruction and guidance in digital media, technology, online safety, communication, creativity, and storytelling.

Today’s children are growing up in a digital world. They need to understand not only how to use technology, but also the pros, cons, risks, and responsibilities that come with it. These are important skills that require time, experience, and specialized teaching.

The Media course is one of the defining parts of Easthill and one of the reasons many families choose this school. It has brought attention, pride, and recognition to the school community while giving students valuable hands-on learning opportunities.

We want our children to continue experiencing Media as its own dedicated course, taught by a specialist, the way it has always been offered.

Please preserve the Media course for current and future students.
