The lock has presented many dangerous situations to boaters trying to pass through it. Safety of people using it would be greatly improved if it were removed.

My house is behind this lock. It is a hazard. All of the houses are now on city sewer. There are no septic tanks. It is long past the time for removal

Please remove the lock as quickly as possible. The water quality is so much better as well as the safe return of Manatees, fish and dolphins to the canals are very strong.

F that lock. My parents almost got a divorce over that damn thing. Luckily, I’m an angel child and convinced that not to act irrationally.

I am a boater living & keeping my boat in Cape Harbour I have used the lock for 10 years & have on many occasions has to move very carefully to avoid manetees which have become trapped in the lock I have also damaged my boat on the unguarded concrete sides The lock is not suitable for todays boat sizes & now it is open - & tidal - it is very dangerous to my boat & more importantly my crew It should be removed - if cannot have any possible adverse effect on Matlachee’s water quality
