I have personally seen numerous boating accidents and potentially dangerous situations in the Chiquita lock. It needs to go.

The mangroves are healthy upstream of the lock. If the water was detrimental to mangroves, they wouldn’t be healthy.

Take the lock completely out. Widen the spreader canal so you never even know it was there.

Please remove the lock. We Have lived here 12 years. The Matlacha groups trying to stop this are the ones in increasing the nitrogen levels with their leaky septic systems.
