Why is the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation opposed to taking out the lock? Don't they care about the Manatee deaths?

Get it of , its broken a long time and a lots of times it was open even when it was still operating. It just mkes no sense as the water was anyway flushing trough thw mangroves.
In my opinion it would help to dig an other outlet in the middle and the north so the boats would not spend hours more to drive from north to south to get out this would help the enviroment on long time

We saw a dolphin playing in castle basin 3 days ago never see that in - 15 years we have lived here

The lock is totally useless and needs to be removed. We live in gate 4 and constantly have trouble getting out. It serves no purpose

Now is the time STOP the deliberate interference of the lock removal by a small group with their own agenda! This group is comprised of many of same people as last time; including one person acting as advocate licensed or not. It is time for the legal system to set aside this requested stays and move forward saving the Manatees and possibly human injury
