As someone who has lived in the area for close to 20 years, I can tell you that the corner where the Maiden's live has never been a nice one - until now! These Maidens lift the corner and the neighborhood. Well done to Day True for haivng the vision. Shame on anyone who wants to bring the corner back down....

Why remove such beauty. Why inflict a black wall on people... How sad.

This is the 21st Century. This work was not done by the owners themselves but commissioned by FinDAC, a highly respected and renowned artist. Do we not live in a society where we have the freedom of artistic expression? The council stating that it is 'advertising' and 'having a negative visual impact', is clearly censorship cloaked in the guise of concern. We no longer call this graffiti, but rather artwork and it is evident that in other areas in London like Shoreditch, there is an abundance of street art - which is highly celebrated and respected. The Westminster City Council should keep up with the times, rather than condemning this artists and his work- whether it is to their taste or not…

Ridiculous. If that's advertising then you'd better paint all the names of all the shops out too...

amazing art work... It's disgusting that the council would want to take it down. Would this be the case if it was a banksy piece??
