I visit to the park almost every day. The shade and beauty of these trees seem more valuable to me than a parking lot. A lot can be located elsewhere, making the loss of these trees totally unnecessary. I am sure a plan could be devised, if people would only apply themselves.

Beautiful park which deserves preservation by taking out the dying tree and only the few limiting accessability. Please do what is best for both the trees and those who enjoy the park. Be conservative. Honor the trees.

When I was a kid Hapuna parking lot had a beautiful shade canopy but parks cut them all down and now it’s an ugly, baking asphalt lot. Parks should have trees! If the parks people can’t handle taking care of exceptional trees we need new parks people, not stumps.

The country clearly needs to get rid of the parks and rec department if the solution to everything is poison and cutting down trees. There is no reason to cut down more trees. This is actually becoming alarming. The county does not represent the people's wishes and are abusing their role.

Prioritizing asphalt over mature canopy is not the answer.

With the ever increasing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, mature trees are essential in reducing levels and thus abating global warming.
