Preservation of trees to the greatest extent possible seems like an approach that could meet the needs of both Hawai'i Parks and Rec. and the community. Thanks for your consideration.

These trees have been around since I was a child and even before the parking lot was built.
These trees are sentient beings which are important to our ecosystem. They emanate positive energy and oxygen to the park's surroundings.
Let the trees live!

Our keiki love coming here. It's nice to relax in the shade after playing in the sunny park. They are beautiful and should remain for all to enjoy.

The trees are also home to the Hawaiian hoary bat, our only land mammal and an endangered species in part because of habitat loss. If you are at the park at dusk you can see them flying.

These trees provide major shade, help reduce heat, support park use year-round, and have been part of Honokaʻa for generations. Once removed, they cannot be replaced in our lifetime.

Please only cut the ones directly impacting the parking lot, there has to be another solution than cutting them all down.
Please leave the trees alone
