An incredible boat club that I owe a lot to and was nothing 10 years ago, it would be a tragedy for it to not be around any more; a beacon of state school rowing.

It is critically important that the sport of rowing includes State Schools and LOS in particular.

It has been good to see the LOSBC crews training and racing in a sport that is too often dominated by private schools.

It would be a tragedy if this was not able to stay.

I was looking forward for my son to do it. One of the most complete sport!

I agree this facility should be maintained, despite Gov. funding issues.

Rowing has been a feature of LOS life to varying degrees since before I was there as a pupil back in the 90s. It has come a long way since then. I am sure it has positively moulded the characters of many students, instilling some transferable skills and ideals for life, and should continue to do so!

Rowing is a great sport as it builds character and teamwork. Every chance to promote it should be taken, especially when there is so much support already from those involved.

Talent in any arena needs financial support for all to have an equal chance and allow those who show promise to progress. Should never be just about the chosen few but about everyone.

As an ex-schools rower (King's Worcester), I was and am delighted by the idea that state maintained schools can try to break elitism within the sports arena. Oratory played a vital role in most competitive events, something that MUST continue.

There is clearly a hidden agenda at work here and someone in the school is behind it! The school governors involved have almost certainly acted unlawfully and now that the parents have raised the necessary funds the school cannot possibly be allowed to close the club !

This would be such a loss to the children at a time when it's difficult to encourage children to pursue outside pursuits.

As a former LOS pupil I feel strongly that the rowing club brings pupils an invaluable opportunity to learn, grow and unwind outside of the academic setting.

I very much hope that the club continues!

As an active rower and parent, I believe the sport instills and enhances young people's senses of determination, co-operation, discipline and sportsmanship. All coupled with building respect for peers and adults alike in the ultimate team sport. team sport.

Please save this club and make a plan for it to continue into the future.
