The lesson program at LIU Post Department of Music is a crucial component to the education of students for their future careers in the music field. As a music educator and working musician, you have to be well-rounded. The degree is listed as K-12 Music which means someone that is a band director also has to have the skills to teach chorus. These skills can only be obtained in the lesson program. Putting heavy restrictions on the program means putting restrictions on furthering our education and finding out "How good we really are."
