We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon Laborer’s Union 507 to renew the property lease for Lakewood Batting Cages at 3901 Paramount Boulevard, Lakewood, CA effective immediately. Lakewood Batting Cages has operated in the same location continuously since 1987, and during this time has developed strong relationships with the local community, playing a vital role in the training and education of nearly every organized youth and adult baseball and softball league in Lakewood, Long Beach, Carson, Los Alamitos, and Downey. We submit this plea for a lease renewal of Lakewood Batting Cages for the following reasons: 1. The facility’s role in sports training and education of community youth and adults 2. The facility’s numerous contributions to community schools and organizations 3. The facility’s role in the early training of High School, College and Major League players 4. The negative effect that the facility’s closure will have on the community
