The pool is a real asset to the Palisades neighborhood. We in the Palisades are very supportive of the Lab School. At lease keep the pool in recognition of that

Our daughter learned to swim here. We use the pool regularly. The pool is a community treasure for the Palisades. Before ending the existence of the pool, please have the courtesy to talk with the neighbors who have supported the Lab School for many years. You seem to be ignoring your partners and community. Why?

Who wrote this narrative? Pointing fingers at management and the PE/OT department is ridiculous. Tony manages the pool wonderfully and the Athletics Department as well as OT utilize the pool as much as they can. Its easy to cast stones when you are on the outside looking in but its not fair to the folks that work in those divisions nor is it fair to peg this issue on management.

Why would the pool be closed? The Lab School saved me and I have been so happy to see it grow to the point where it has a pool. Why get rid of something so beneficial to the students?

As a proud member of Shaun Miskell's Thespian Society, and a frequent user of the pool during PE classes, I don't understand why Lab can't have both spaces. The Kelly Theatre/ Arts building and the Pool and Gym all opened during my 8th grad year, and I loved using all of the new facilities. There must be a way to all co-exist without taking anything away from anyone!

A swimming program has always been a big part of the Lab School program. Since the 70's when I took the students downtown to use a pool at a "Y" and in the 80's I secured space at Yates Field House to maintain pool space and gym time until Lab could afford to construct its own. The theater program is a big component of the Lab curriculum but shouldn't jeopardize the pools existence. Lab seems to be quickly forgetting the lessons Sally Smith taught.

Keep the pool Lab it's a valuable asset to the school and community. I'm sure you can find another way to expand the theater without getting rid of the pool.
