After reviewing this petition, I’ve noticed that there are numerous misleading inaccuracies. Specifically, “We, the voting citizens of Keys Gate and Homestead, petition the City Council of Homestead to allow the current zoning of Commercial / multi-family units in the Park of Commerce to include single family homes. We also respectfully petition the Council to approve Mr. Wayne Rosen's request to allow the approximate 11 acres of golf course land to be rezoned as residential land. With this petition, we also ask you to support a renovated golf course as proposed by Mr. Jim Fazio at the February 3rd golf course presentation, and that the land surrounding the "third finger" of the golf course (approximately 35 - 40 acres) be site-planned as a single-family neighborhood of no more than 6 units per acre. A Championship golf course will create new jobs, promote tourism, and bring increased tax revenue to Homestead, as well as a true sense of community - something of which Homestead and all of South Florida can be proud.”
Upon review of the Notice of Proposed Chance on the City of Homestead’s website, there is no reference to Mr. Fazio’s proposal, no mention of a $12,000,000 investment, nor any legally binding change other than the addition of more homes to our neighborhood. Any mention of the Keys Gate Golf Course and any renovation thereto is intentionally misleading.
