I hope you can save the church. To many old structures are torn down with out a second thought to all the wonderful history that is lost, for the community.

With a willing community, there is a way, Historic buildings like this, no matter the ownership, defines the heart of who the community is to the world and Communities that respect their iconic historic past, sells more new homes at a higher value, have more visitors annually and helps create a more interesting place to live. Once it’s gone, You will never replace this unique architecture or history again and worth the effort now for future generations.
It’s just a roof, not impossible.

The older I get the more I realize that preservation of these historic landmarks are so important. It will retain Kewaunee's history for future generations so please save this church. Kewaunee was a wonderful place to live for many of my years.

That building is a monument to past history and it would be tragic to demolish it.
I own two old retired Catholic churches, and I know how cumbersome it can be to find good craftsmen who want to work on tall steep roofs like that.
I think it behooves the city to work with Mr. Sagrillo to help stabilize and restore this beautiful old building.

Far too often state and local elected officials choose to erase history in hopes of urban renewal. What remain are parking lots and vacant lots and the irreplaceable loss of a communities ancestral identity.

The church is irreplaceable. A brick structure that will stand for hundreds of years with no maintenance. Kewaunee has plenty of razed buildings with empty lots going nowhere. Why tear down a beautiful old structure for another empty lot, when it can be saved for unknown future possibilities.

No one is actively using the church and it is not a threat to public or private safety. Please save this beautiful church and give the owner a chance to fundraiser to restore the roof
