Kea are so curious with everything. They will check anything out like tourist rubbish and foods and 1080 pellets. You are not saving them. With each class 1A neurotoxin drop 25% of Kea in that area are killed. Do you really want to be responsible for the murder of the last most intelligent parrot in the world? Save tourism. Stop the drops.

I have seen first hand the devastating effects of 1080 it kills everything in its wake a poison cannot tell the difference between predators and non predators 1080 is a wicked poison and the spreading of it should be stopped

1080 is inhumane and indiscriminate. It kills whatever eats it. You cannot stop a curious bird, like the Kea, from consuming 1080. Ban 1080 immediately.

DOC as "managers" must serve the public and report to us the truth! So far I do not believe their reporting - since the white cliffs - meads report nothing has changed!

No form of pest control is worth wiping out a native species for. The fact that the Kea is an extraordinary parrot is all the more reason. NZ, you are supposed to be all about conservation.
