Neonicotinoids are a new class of insecticides chemically related to nicotine. Like nicotine, the Neonicotinoids act on the receptors in the nerve synapse. They are much more toxic to invertebrates, like insects, than they are to mammals, birds and other more complex organisms.

My fellow honeybee enthusiast and I have created this petition to raise awareness to the growing problem that is the decline in bee population. The honeybees are dying at a dramatic rate and can only be saved with our help. We must work to ban all harmful pesticides especially those containing Neonicotinoids that kill bees by the thousands every day.

We rely on bees for food, both meat and non-meat products, along with oxygen. Without their pollination, we could very quickly crumble as a species. If the bees die off, they're taking us with them.
