As a season ticket holder, I am extremely disappointed to see this tradition disappear? Why get rid of something that is so much fun and loved by all?

I was born in Blacksburg, moved to Miami at age four- but my parents would drive us up to Hokie games on the weekends in the fall. As a kid, one of the most memorable part of the games was the Hokie Pokie. As a student, it was still memorable. It's a fun tradition and there's no reason to get rid of it - please keep the Hokie Pokie. Nothing brings a group of 30,000 of your best friends together than simultaneously dancing to a goofy song. Not to mention, it keeps the crowd from freezing later on in the season.

deplorable. In this day in age, we don't need tougher, we need togetherness, which is what this time honored tradition provides.

Don't get rid of the Hokie Pokie! One of the best parts of the game for Hokie fans! I am a VT alum and felt this was a great way to show support and have a lot of fun. Fun is as important as tough...frankly fun is probably more important!

Stop taking away traditions. There is plenty of time during a 4 hour game to bring in new ideas and still keep tradition alive.

Stupid move. I'm not sure how someone thinks they can start a new tradition. First the stick it in chant and now the hokie pokie. While you decide to erase more and more parts of my VT experience, don't forget to erase my name off the list of Alumni you call asking for money.

Seems to me that the players should be responsible for creating a "tougher" atmosphere. I doubt the Hokie Pokie at 3rd quarter makes the other team think "we can take them now!"

I was a tuba and danced the Hokie Pokie for 3 years. This is a legacy of Virginia Tech as much as enter sandman is now, as much as the VT spartan was, as much as the Hokie scoring bench press. Sure it's a goofier part of the experience, but hokies are goofy too. If the football you want is keeping everyone amped and "VT's gonna take you to the cleaners" non-stop, fine. There's an argument it makes for a more intense game. But the Hokie Pokie is an opportunity to share a part of the Hokie Spirit with other schools, and I think that says volumes about Virginia Tech.

Some things just need to stay the same and this is ONE! Leave the Hokie Pokie as is!
