I was at the game on 9/9/17 when President Sanda rolled out the "new tradition" for the 3rd quarter. I watched the Hokie Pokie during halftime. The cheers and good will where much greater and stronger for the HP than the "new tradition." Playing Tech Triumph, even if renamed, is nothing new; neither is Let's Go Hokies cheers from opposite stands. It was a lame and unnecessary change. It doesn't make Hokies appear tougher. It does take away entertainment and levity and good will between the teams. After the WVU game violence in Fed Ex stadium, we can use all the reminders of good sportsmanship and comorodary we can get! Bring back the Hokie Pokie in the third quarter!

What a disappointment. The idea has potential, but the execution for the inauguaral spot was ridiculous. So sad.

Whatever "that" was in the 4th qtr yesterday feel flat. Sorry that Pres Sands had to go through that. He seemed awkward and looked out of place. We say "Let's Go Hokies" enough. Bring back Hokie Pokie please.

After experiencing the less than electifying new 3rd quarter tradition during the game against Delaware it is clear the Hokie Pokey was missed and the replacement was a flop.

Every team has a "Let's go..." VT is the only team with the Hokie Pokie. That is what makes this tradition so great! "Tough" can be shown on the playing field. Fans want to have fun, too! Love that each opponent's tuba players get to join in! This is part of the awesome Hokie spirit!
