The Hokie Pokey is a beloved tradition. It's one of the things that makes VT football unique and fun! It's something the fans, alumni, and future generations look forward to at each game. It's abandoning the song "Enter the Sandman" entrance onto the field that gets the crowd and players pumped. Hoping this is just a joke, but if they are legit in contemplating this, I hope they reconsider and think hard before changing such an awesome tradition.

I'm a third generation Hokie, with very fond memories of doing the Hokie Pokie with my grandparents and hopes to continue it with my future children. Please keep this tradition alive!

I did the Hokie Pokie 2001-2005 and I am extremely disappointed that it will be removed from the GameDay energy! Entering the 4th quarter is a crucial time of the game, and the nergy from the Hokie Pokie needs to remain!!

Traditions don't become traditions by jerking them around. I like the idea of the special guest but this is the wrong thing I move to make room for it. Unless the guest leads the Hokie Pokie!

The Hokie Pokie IS what it's all about! Silly, fun, and NAMED JUST FOR US!!!!
When I taught, we did the Hokie Pokie every Friday! I'm sure the kids just thought it was silly fun, I was trying to teach left and right - but it made me smile to know we were spreading Hokie pride!
Heck, I'm planning on presenting the Hokie Pokie at an outreach event over Labor Day weekend!
Keep the Hokie Pokie! It's our song, just like the "O" we sing in Baltimore during the national anthem & "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" during the 7th inning stretch at Oriole's games!
