THEY FINALLY LISTENED AND THE HOKIE POKIE IS OFFICIALLY BACK ON THE FIELD!! WE PROVED THAT TRADITION OUTWEIGHS EVERYTHING ELSE AND I AM BEYOND THRILLED TO CELEBRATE THIS HUGE VICTORY WITH YOU ALL!! KEEP CHERISHING OUR STADIUM SPIRIT BECAUSE WE CERTAINLY EARNED THIS WIN!!
The Hokie Pokie third quarter stretch at Virginia Tech games is one of the most unique traditions in the country. However, the marketing team in the athletics department has decided to cut one of our favorite gameday experiences in the name of creating a "tougher" atmosphere. We need to show them that we appreciate and value our traditions. #SaveTheHokiePokie
THE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT HAS FINALLY AGREED TO HEAR OUR PLEA BECAUSE THEY ARE SEEING THIS MASSIVE WAVE OF SUPPORT!! I AM PREPARING A DOCUMENT FILLED WITH ALL YOUR PASSIONATE COMMENTS TO SHOW THEM THAT TRADITION IS WHAT MAKES OUR STADIUM THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH!! WE ARE NOT BACKING DOWN UNTIL THE HOKIE POKIE IS BACK ON THE FIELD WHERE IT BELONGS!!

VT Hokie class of '83. Whose lame brain idea was this? This tradition started while I was at Tech and my whole family looks forward to it. Was rehearsing for Sunday. Does anyone one there understand tradition? What next? No Enter Sandman?

Joined Hokie Club for the first time this year as a 2012 grad, and MV alum. I fear that VT Athletics is trying to phase the MVs out of the magic of gameday in Lane, and I will not continue to support the organization if that is the case.

I am an athlete and a musician. The musicians don't tell the Athletic Dept how to coach nor should the Athletic Dept tell the musicians how to perform. The Hokey Pokey will will reach more Alumni than all athletic events. Now turn yourself around!

Unbelievable that VTs marketing dept is so short sighted. This is a tradition! I don't live in the area, I didn't go to VT, but I can tell you I've been to football games all over the country, and the Hokie Pokie is one of THE VERY BEST OF TRADITIONS!

VT 2002 and spent 11 years as staff. Hokie Pokey is a great tradition that never impacted the outcome of a game. Do you think Take Me Out To The Ball Game won or lost the Yanks or Reds or Cards or Cubs a World Series. Get a grip VT Athletics.

The Hokie Pokie is one of the many traditions at Tech that made my daughter want to become a Marching Virginian. She learned how to play the tuba in her senior year of high school in the hopes to play the Hokie Pokie with the sousaphones.

Leave the Hokie Pokie alone! No more “Stick It In.” No more “Hokie Pokie.” What’s next?
